National Adoption Month

November is National Adoption Month. According to the Adoption Network Law Center, there are 1.5 million children for adaption in the United States. However, there are approximately 428,000 children in the U.S. foster care system who are eligible to be adopted. This year, The Harding Firm is happy to announce that it is now performing adoptions! Attorney Kina Harding has been practicing family law for nearly ten years. When The Harding Firm first opened, Attorney Harding offered divorce, custody and juvenile services. Over time, The Harding Firm stopped taking juvenile cases and focused more heavily on divorce, separation and custody.

Now Accepting Juvenile Cases (Adaptions)

However, The Harding Firm is expanding! The firm’s very own, Alyssa Holmes, graduated from law school and passed the Bar Exam. Ms. Holmes has worked as an extern and legal assistant to Attorney Harding for nearly two years. The Harding Firm is thrilled that she will join the team permanently. Ms. Holmes is passionate about all things family law, but she is especially interested in juvenile law. For that reason, it felt natural for The Harding Firm to return to its roots and start accepting juvenile cases (including adoptions), again.

Not all adopted children come from the foster system. Sometimes, a child may have one present biological parent and one deceased or absent parent. On other occasions, a grandparent or other blood relative may take the place of a child’s biological parent(s). Different changes in the family unit may leave a child with no parents, one parent or a new stepparent. In any event, The Harding Firm is happy to help provide a child with permanency through adoption. For nearly ten years The Harding Firm has successfully resolved a plethora of family law matters, including divorce, separation, custody and child support. Now, The Harding Firm wants to be your go-to resource for adoptions, too. Call and schedule your free 30-minute consultation today.
